Nice and Cool Out...

It's so nice and cool out right now, and yet I sit at the computer and write. I'll crochet on our front porch later. It's nice & cool... And I love our roses.
I have a roast in the Crock Pot , so that takes care of dinner tonight. Don't you just love Crock pots! I just need more good recipes for ours.
Phones ringing...
Be back later!

  1. Your rose bushes are so pretty! I have a brown, brown thumb. :P Have you ever seen the 'Fix It & Forget It' cookbook? I think WalMart has them. I watched an infommercial on it once and wanted to get a crock-pot just so I could make some of those recipes, they sounded so yummy. (I still don't have a crock-pot...That was about 8 years ago, I think!) :P

  2. Hi Tina!
Thanks! Paul gave me my Rose Bushes about 3 years ago. I can pull weeds & water things... But my only plants that "I" put in large planters are Cilantro, Dill, Mint & Basil. But Paul has the Green Thumb in the family.
Yes, I have a couple of Fix It And Forget it cookbooks. But I really depend on Family Recipes and TasteOfHome.com ..:-)
You need a Crock Pot! They are wonderful when you don't want to mess with cooking. Just toss in the ingredients & go on your merry way! When you come back, Supper Is Ready!

  3. Hi Susan!
Here's a really, REALLY easy crockpot recipe, if you like bbq.

Put a rump roast (or pork roast, or chicken breasts) in the crockpot. Season with whatever you want. I usually use fajita seasoning, garlic power, and slice some onions on top. Cook on high for 4 hours, or low for 8 hours. When done, remove from the crock, place on a baking pan to cool. Then, shed the meat, remove as much fat as you want to, and put the meat back into the juices in your crock. Add a whole bottle of your favorite bbq sauce and serve on buns.

BTW, I found your blog on the Knittinghelp.com website.

  4. Thanks Melanie!

That looks good. Right now we have fresh onions & other veggies in the garden. So I want to use them up! We have the meat in the freezer, so I'm ready to cook... :-)

I'm glad you found my blog. I just started a another one just for recipes & cooking. Share Recipes for Culinary Delights. It's linked on the right side on this one. I try putting a recipe on it every day. But crocheting is taking up my time. :-) I love it!

    Thanks for writing !
