Crock Pot Day!

This morning I decided to throw the ingredients needed for Beef Stew into the Crock Pot. It smells so good! Then I added some Dry Sherry to boot..:-)

I can't finish my quilt til I get the backing for it. I have the rest though. So in the mean time, I have finished a blanket (crochet) and am now crocheting a soft scarf for the lady who taught me quilting.

My sister has found out that she is still Cancer Free!!! ( She had her Pet Scan) :-) So you can bet she celebrating..:-)

Christmas is getting CLOSER...:-) Are you getting ready for it? Or are you going to be one of those people who SCRAMBLE at the last minute ? :-)

Para What ?

I had to share these. They came from our very good friends in California!

PARAPROSDOKIANS... (Winston Churchill loved them) are figures of

speech in which the latter part of a sentence or phrase is surprising
or unexpected; frequently humorous.

1. Where there's a will, I want to be in it.

2. The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it's still on my list.

3. Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright

until you hear them speak.

4. If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

5. We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public.

6. War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

7. Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it

in a fruit salad.

8. They begin the evening news with 'Good Evening,' then proceed to

tell you why it isn't.

9. To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism. To steal from many is research.

10. Buses stop in bus stations. Trains stop in train stations. On my

desk is a work station.

11. I thought I wanted a career. Turns out I just wanted paychecks.

12. In filling out an application, where it says, 'In case of

emergency, notify:' I put 'DOCTOR.'

13. I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

14. Women will never be equal to men until they can walk down the

street with a bald head and a beer gut, and still think they are sexy.

15. Behind every successful man is his woman. Behind the fall of a

successful man is usually another woman.

16. A clear conscience is the sign of a fuzzy memory.

17. You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute

to skydive twice.

18. Money can't buy happiness, but it sure makes misery easier to live with.

19. There's a fine line between cuddling and holding someone down so

they can't get away.

20. I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

21. You're never too old to learn something stupid.

22. To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever

you hit the target.

23. Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

24. Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

25. Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than

standing in a garage makes you a car.

26. Where there's a will, there are relatives.

Squares Sewn Togather!!!

Last night I finally got all of the squares sewn togather... How does it look? Next I need to lay out the batting and backing & then baste.

It's so nice and cool out! Love it!
Only 93 days til Christmas! I know, Thanksgiving comes first. Not sure how many days til then though. I don't know if they have a countdown for that holiday.

I better get going. I have shopping for a few groceries. Then it's onto Dairy Queen to order an ice cream cake for a party. D.Q. has the very best ice cream cakes. Then I'm making Hot Buffalo Chicken Dip.

Granny Smith Apple Time !!!

Good Afternoon!

I found a recipe I just had to share with you! Think " Granny Smith Apples stuffed with Sauasge ".

Baked Apples Filled with Sausage - Yield: 6 servings

1 lb. bulk sausage

6 large tart baking apples

2 T. brown sugar

1 tsp. ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp. grated lemon rind

1/4 C. chopped figs

brown sugar, ground cinnamon, grated lemon rind, or chopped figs

Preheat the oven to 375 F.

Brown the sausage in a large skillet. Wash the apples & cut a slice from the tops. Scoop out the flesh, leaving shells 1/2 inch thick.

Cut the flesh from the cores & chop it. Add the chopped apple, brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon rind & figs to the sausage and mix well. Fill the apple shells with the mixture. Sprinkle the tops with brown sugar, cinnamon, grated lemon rind, or chopped figs. Place in a baking dish, cover & bake til tender, about 40 Min..   IDEA : Serve with hot biscuits & a green salad.

A Ho- Hum Monday....

Good Evening!

This morning we had a little sun... but by Noon it got Gray! And I felt a bit  gray myself. O.K.  a little down. Weather just does that to me sometimes. Don't ask me why.

98 days til Christmas! I just forward to to that time of year! When all of our family gets togather..:-)

I'm looking forward to more quilting, but I don't see Cindy ( lady who is teaching me)nagain til Thursday. So in the meantime, I'm working on an Afghan. Using the Double Puff Stitch. The yarn is by Deborah Norville and called Everyday. The color is Antique Lavendar. Love it!
There are a lot Grays and Lavendars mixed in with Black. That picture does not due the real color justice.

I better  fix some muffins for my hubby to have in the morning.  I think I'll make Blueberry Muffins. I THINK I have enough Blueberries left.

Cleaning The Craft Room!

Good Morning!

... I have decided to clean the Craft Room / Michael's Room. I just STORE my stuff there.  I'll be busy most of the day with that!  Even though I have a Craft Room, I like Quilting & Crocheting downstairs where I can see and hear everything.  So the dining room table is now cluttered with cloth etc. ( I'll get pictures when I'm done. )  Plus I my PRESENT CROCHET PROJECTS are in the family room next to my rocking chair.

... Then I have my Quilting Meet. I enjoy quilting with Cindy. She has been in Fiber Arts for YEARS! She crochets also. So we have lots to talk about. She said she learned quilting when she was a little girl. The name of her shop is " It's Sew Fun " ... She is on Facebook also. Just search " It's So Fun ".

I better get going! Haven't had breakfast yet. ( Unless Ice Tea Counts)

Making Squares..:-)

Hi!

I have been sewing squares togather all day!  I think I'll give my Singer a break for a bit. Material sure is expensive. I have been looking for cotton fabric that says " U.C. Bearcats ".. They want 9.99 to 14.99 a yard! Darn!

I thought I would share this link with you. It has nothing to do with Crochet or quilting... But i's different.

Walking In Cincinnati

Good Evening!
... My son took me out to eat at a place called First Watch in Cincinnati today! It was good... Everything was so fresh!  They serve Breakfast, Brunch & Lunch all day.

Then after we ate ... we took a walk around the block and saw the new park there. He stepped over a cement barrier, so when I tried to step over that thing, it was a little too high for me and I slipped. My right side is a bit stiff & sore. But I'll be fine once that wears off. ... Then after that... we went to place called Orange Leaf. It's a Frozen Yogurt Parlor. Very Nice! I loved the Cheesecake flavor with Fresh Raspberries!!! Very Good!!!

Storms are on the way here... So I better get off line.

HAPPY LABOR DAY !!!

Good RAINY Morning ..:-)

We need the rain. It's a bit late to help us get a beautiful & colorful Fall. But it will help the yards & fields.

If you have plans for Labor Day, enjoy! I think we'll be grilling out. ( In the garage if it rains. )
