Good Evening Everyone!!!

Hi!
They are calling for thunderstorms here... But I don't see any as of yet... So I'm on the computer...:-)
I wanted to show you what I made last night. I'm not sure of the name of them. A cousin of ours just me the recipe when I tasted them at our family reunion.

I took pictures of the steps you take in making these.

This is where you put the mixture THINLY on the Flour Tortillas. ( 3 oz. of light cream cheese, some light Hellmann's mayonnaise and about 1/2 tsp. of Hidden valley Ranch Dressing DRY MIX... blend well.)

In the above picture, you add the Slaw Mix you get in the produce sectiion of your store. ( by the lettuce) And then I add fresh & rinsed Cilantro!!!

Then just roll it up like a burrito, then you slice them...:-)

Store in the fridge!!!

I put mine in an airtight pyrex container. They seem to taste better in you let them sit for about 3 0r 4 hours in the fridge before you eat any.

They are great for picnics..:-)

Cookbooks From Store & MY KIND of Cookbooks

Good Evening!

....Does anyone else have a corner in the kitchen where they keep their favorite cookbooks plus the ones they made? ( I love taking notebooks that are only 1/2 inch wide , put plastic sheet covers in them, then fill them with recipes we all love & want again... And each cookbook / notebook is for a different food category.) Love It!!!

...... Now get this... My autographed cookbooks are upstairs packed away in my craft room. They are in a book case. ( Where they won't get dirty.)

...My little cookbook corner looks like this... ( Don't laugh ...)

I was just wondering if any one else did this. Yep... a bunch of them are those thick Taste Of Home cookbooks / magazines. They are good.

I Just Noticed ...:-(

... I just noticed a BIG MIS SPELLING... Why didn't one of you ladies tell me? ... I had " SPAY DAY " in the heading. I have corrected it. Someone could have seen that and think... " She is Nuts!!! " Well... I guess they wouldn't be TOO far of the track...:-)

Looks like I need more FRESH from the garden Veggies...:-) Should I pick from the garden or the Produce Section At Kroger? Hmm... try the Garden. Last night we had fresh BLT's!!! yummy! But tonight I'll be making a Nacho Cheese Beef Casserole. I think Paul needs dinner with BEEF in it !!!

Spa Day!!!

Hmm, SPA DAY??? I don't know about that.... But what I made today is called a SPA DAY wash cloth.

Here is a better shot of it.

I'm planning on making more in white. I love the Plum color. But I can't find any here. That's just the Lily 100 % Cotton from JoAnn's. I love PLUM color. I would like to use the color above and then solid Plum to go with it.

They are calling for Thunderstorms ALL WEEK, except for Thursday. It's suppose to SCATTERED storms. So it won't be too bad.

I better hit the hay!!!

Relaxing The Crampy Fingers...:-)

Hi!

Tonight I'm just relaxing cramped fingers after making that cover. The sewing that trim onto it. I think the trim was the hardest part. That is THICK.

We have thunderstorms coming... so I can't stay on line too long. I don't want to take the chance of getting the computer zapped by lightning.

Have I ever shown anyone this picture? I got the trophy for cooking the best Mexican food that night. ( This was back in April)...

I made my Enchilada Casserole that night.

Let me get a better picture of it.

Well... it's not better... just in different light.

Night!!!

Just Finished It!!!

Here is the Kitchen Aid Mixer COVER I made.

And here is a closer look at the trim I used. I was going to put the trim around the middle. But my husband said around the bottom looks better.

Let me know what you think...:-) I'm just glad it's done
so I get on with my next project...:-)

Here It Is!!!

Good Morning Again!!!

I just finished the last row of the cover for my Stand Mixer.

Here it is on the the Family Room floor. I think it came out pretty good for not having a pattern. Straight edges...;-)

And here is the Kitchen Aid on the counter. I MIGHT use that trim you see. I don't know. Picture it around trhe middle. To hide the little bulge the Bowl is making. ( I have no idea what the spots are on it. )

So what do you think? Any idea of what I should put on it? Need input...:-)

My Kitchen Aid Cover In Process...

Hi!

Here is the cover I'm making for the Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer I bought for 25.00 at a yard sale!!! Sure it's older , but it works GREAT!

Kitchen Aid Cover In Progress.

And for those of you who want to make a cover for your own stand mixer or any other appliance... I couldn't fine a pattern, so I just made one up... But it's working fine for me.

I Am using Lily 100 % Cotton Yarn

G Hook

And the only stitch is ( SC ) Single Crochet

I started by chaining 4, then Slip Stitch the last stitch to the first stitch to make a circle.

Then make 8 SC in the circle.

Divide those stitches by 2 and use open stitch markers to mark your corners. They are tiny to start with, but it will grow...:) And you move the stitch markers as you go. It's tedious at first. But it pays off.

You want to make a big square that will later cover the TOP of your Stand Mixer or other Appliance.

Then at about round 5, it will want to start curling... So before it curls, start making 2 SC in each corner. You want to keep it flat.

When it's big enough to cover the top of

your Mixer or other appliance, you want it to start to go down to make the sides.

To make the sides go down, you just do a DECREASE in the each corner for 2 rounds.

And just keep on making your rounds til it's long enough to cover you appliance and touch your counter.

Weave in ends... voila!!!

I'll be going to JoAnn's today to see about getting some TRIM for the edge of my cover. I want to see what they have. I thought I saw some braided trim the other day.

Have a Great & SAFE 4th. of July Weekend !!!
