Went To Kohls...

...... I went to Kohl's today and EVERYTHING was Christmas... They had about 4 Christmas Trees with Decorations to Buy on them. But it isn't even Thanksgiving yet....

Then I looked at Pajamas there... On the wall they had big soft fleecy looking bed jackets on hangers... Loved them. I don't want a long robe... So it looked perfect... Then I looked below the Bed Jackets... " Matching Pajama pants to the jackets"... Those things "I" called Bed jackets were really Pajama TOPS!!! I would burn up in those things. You know THICK a Sleeping Bag is???? That is how thick these Pajamas were.

You know the lady who is always reading the labels on clothes? I'm sure you see her in the stores. Well, That's Me. I'll touch a piece of clothing to see what it is and I usually end up dropping it back fast. :-( ... It's always acrylic or polyester anymore. Ugh!!! I want Cotton... Or Silk or Bamboo or Merino Wool. Nothing man made. I wish they would bring back natural fibers.

O.K. I'll quit ranting... I guess I'm a material snob ...:-) So lets hear your say on the materials designers use.

  1. Too thick = Too hot. Rayon, polyester, anything like that. Wool is also out. WAY too hot to wear. I don't even wear that stuff in the winter.

  2. Good Morning Bev!

I didn't know if anyone wojuld reply that rant...LOL I got a little upset over the materials they used in the clothes I saw yesterday at the Kohl's I went to.

I'm talking about Thin and very Soft Merino wool. I found a sweater made of that at a consignment shop... I had to buy that. It was SO SOFT.

Latley, in the winter or Fall I wear a short sleeve top with a Long Sleeve blouse over it. ( Left Open of course). If a Hot Flash comes... Off comes the blouse...LOL When it gets COLD... the Blouse goes back on..;-)

Glad to see THE FLOYD didn't scare you away. Other's still aren't getting it. I thought I gave it away. But, it's a classic, right... Everyone, knows THE FLOYD...he-he....

Being called to watch a movie, don't you just hate that, when they need all this attention on a Saturday night.....

  5. Hi Kris...:-)

I re read what I wrote... It's a bit on the funny side now that I read again..;-) I was tired when I wrote it... But fed up with TRYING to find nice clothes made of good material that lets your skin breathe. ( By The Way.. if you ever find a place like that... PLEASE let me know..:-) )

Oh yesss... My Mom... who still has hot flashes taught me the Short Sleeve Shirt trick LOL ... Just wear a long sleeve shirt over it that looks good with it for when it gets cold out. Every woman needs to know the LAYERING TRICK to keep cool...:-)
Keep Cool & Come Back Again!!!

  6. I think the doily will be about 18". My table has a Millenium finish so it is high gloss cherry wood with black trim. I think it will look striking on it. It's a big family table so 18" should be just about right, I hope. I agree with your layering trick. It works really well.

  7. Hi Bev!

That should look SHARP!!! Glossy Darl Cherry with Oure White Doiliy = Perfect!

Layering works all right... If I didn't layer... I would be standing in front of the freezer with the door open alot...

Right now the Crock Pot is on... I have a Pot Roast going with Potatoes in it. Now I need to think of a dessert... Michael (son) is coming... he heard we were having a Roast..;-)

Talk to you later!!! Enjoy what is left of Sunday!!!

  8. I agree with you too. I have to be comfortable and some of the clothing manufactured today seems like it's come from recycled grocery bags!
What happened to cotton that allowed your skin to breath and a good warm pullover or sweater to add if you are cold?

  9. Good Morning Clara!

I'm hoping people will list there favorite places to find BREATHABLE clothes.... ( Is that even a word? )
When we were Alaska this past August, They had a shop that had NOTHING but Bamboo. It is wonderful. It lets your skin breathe. Hubby bought a shirt of Bamboo. He loves it... He uses it for golfing.. well it could be worn for any sport. He says it doesn't make you sweat so much. And So Far... Every Stain has come right out of it. Great material...:-)
