Just For Christmas...

...I went to The Mall the other day... And what did all of the stores there have in common??? " They All had Christmas Stuff Out"... we haven't even had Halloween yet!!! Anyway... While looking at all of those Pre Mature Christmas trees and decorations.... I got to thinking... What am I going to Crochet for in our house for Christmas? I looked at some of the stuff... And got this idea and now I'm making it...

... This will probably have a Green Trim with Red Berries embroidered into it by using a yarn needle. (I'm still brain storming of how I want it to look.) The stores show a lot of Embroidery for trimmings of the blanket or afghan. And that stuff is $$$$$$... But I digress... I'm using Simply Soft by Caron.... It looks Orange here, but it's a TRUE RED... It's much bigger now. I worked on it all last night while watching the game with hubby...:-) I'll have to put another picture of it soon.

Oh yes... This one is for us!!! I already know where it will got for Christmas... On the Living Room Sofa... It's a Dark Country Blue. ... Speaking of the living room... I better make a White Tree Skirt for our Christmas Tree in the Bay Window also... *** Susan's To Do List... Finish Christmas afghan... Start White Tree Skirt for Living Room... Crochet Pocket Scarves for siblings... Sure I'll think of more later.... I ALWAYS think of more at night while TRYING to sleep. ***

I'll get anther picture posted of it after this skein... I'm planning on using 4 skeins of the red yarn... ( At Least) That simply Soft yarn has such a nice sheen. I hope it stays that way.

Thank You...:-) I just tsrated out with a little granny square and let it Grow!!!

I thought the Simply Soft would be good for a Christmas Afghan becasue it has that pretty SHEEN!!!
I also bought White Simply Sofy for a Tree Skirt... It should be pretty and shiny also.

  5. I LOVE Simply Soft - I think it's my most favorite acrylic to work with - and it has such a silky sheen...beautiful red color. I'm all into making Christmas stuff too - I have three Christmas tickers on my blog and I hope I'm not "ticking" people off with that, but I love the season.

    Happy hookin' :-)

  6. Hi Doris & Gizzy...:-)

I think My Mom gave me the bug of making stuff for Christmas. She use to do it all of the time... She has slowed down on that, and now I do it. I enjoy it.
Normally I don't care much for acrylic... BUt some are softer then others. I love Superwash... and Malabrigo. I also like yarns that are 1/2 merino wool and 1/2 silk. I have some now that are just waiting for me to dream up a pattern OR find one that I just love.
I'll have to check your web site!!!
