...I hope everyone had a great weekend. We had a nice one. EXCEPT that the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals LOST their games.
...We had a grill out and watched the games at my Mom & Dad's house. Here I am Mom's sitting on the deck. Sissy is quite sure what she thinks of that darn cart... It's a barn cat, but it comes to the garage to see if Dad has thrown any food out for it.
You can't see it in this picture... But there is a Corn Hole game going on in the driveway while I sit and relax with Sissy in my lap and a cool drink on my side... :-)
... Something I have been thinking about is this... "What am I going to make for Christmas ? " I have been making something that I saw on one of our excursions we took while in Alaska. A lady next to me was COLD. It was a very windy & cold day. So she drew her scarf around her and PUT HER HANDS IN IT!!! She had a pocket on the ends of her scarf!!! I asked to see it and she showed me... I thought, " That Looks Easy To Make... Just Fold Over enough of the scarf to make pockets and sew the sides." So I have been making those...;-) * It's not a pattern... but it's easy to do.* I have made one and working on the next one.
... After all, there is only around 3 months til Christmas. I bet you really love me for reminding you of how many days you have til the gift giving day!!! *** Christmas *** So get your Hooks and Needles moving...:-)

I've seen those scarves...they are nice gift and easy to make. I think I'm going to go for slippers this year, including a few for myself. I go through them like mad because no matter what time of year, I wear something on my feet in the house.
ReplyDeleteYou started to rekindle my long-time desire to see Alaska... only I want someone to go with me and it will take me now twice as long to save up for a trip for two since none of my friends can afford to go ;-)
Be sure and take a look at my Giveaway, if you've not already done so.
Kind Regards,
Doris and Gizzy :-)
Sounds like you had a great weekend despite the scores. The scarves sound very nice and I can't wait to see them soon.
ReplyDeleteWay to go. Bring up the "C" word. I thought you were my friend.

Hi, Susan! Thanks for stopping by my blog! :) The scarf is a great idea! I'll have to try one. I see you are local to Cinc too. It is always fun to "meet" local crafters in the blogosphere. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sara!
ReplyDeleteYour Welcome... I love reading blogs that look so interesting. ... I'm ALMOST finished with the scarf I'm working on now...I'm putting a shell trim on it now. Then I fold balc about 6 inches on each end and make pocketes...:-) Sew it, then I'm done. I'm using a varigated yarn for the body of it and a dark brown contrasting yarn for the trim...:-)
Your from around Cincinnati? I'll have to check your blog and read the profile.

Hi Susan, I'm from the Grannie Neighborhood you've come to enjoy. I made this scarf for my DGD but you made matching pieces then sewed on to make the pocket. I tried just flipping/folding it over but the patter was then backward; at least on one side. I did like it though so have fun.
