I got a new Camera Memory Card today. So now I can put a picture on here to show you the Purple Waffle Throw.
Sissy is helping me as you can see. At the moment she is guarding one of my Crochet Hooks.

Good Evening... Just Waiting Til...

Just waiting til I have to unplug my computer. Storms are coming again. I have about 5 minutes to type. Oh well, My roses and other flowers need the rain. So do the yards.

I have to buy a new card for my camera. Apparently, the one I have in the camera now is worn out. LOL Yes... It's used a lot. Can you tell ?

In the picture on the right, you can see that Sissy found the " warm clean sheets " I had to put down on the sofa for a few minutes.

I Love Krogering ... Know Why?

...... because there is a Yarn Store near it.... Actually, it's in the same Center as Kroger's is. Anyway... I stopped in to see what yarns are on special this week. :-) It's a JoAnn's Yarns & Crafts Store. Then in Hamilton we have a Lambikin's... I haven't been there for a bit though. Anyway... I bought 5 skeins of Wool Ease ( Worsted Weight )... Its a Heathered Evergreen color. It has little specks of blue turquoise in it. Very pretty!!!
I think I'll plan a trip to Hamilton...;-) And THINK is the operative word.

Miss Dirty Eyes & A Purple Waffle...

Good Morning...

Sorry I haven't posted over the weekend... but we have been busy. Last night our son had a party and we were all there... :-) It was fun. He grilled fresh Sweet Corn and had Chicken & lots of side dishes.

Take a look at what I'm making... Sissy has it around her neck early in the morning here. She still has those sleepy , dirty eyes... LOL She looked at me like, " You Woke Me Up THIS??? "

I'm using Purple TLC Amore that I have in my stash. I have 9 skeins of it. It's mostly Acrylic... But it just enough Nylon in it to make it SO soft. I have just enough to make a very nice throw. I don't know if I'll keep it or sell it at my friend's bead shop. ( or maybe keep it for a Christmas Gift. for someone. ) The reason I mentioned PURPLE WAFFLES in the title is because the stitches I'm using in this is Front Post & Back Post which makes this look like a big Purple Waffle...LOL

This is Christmas In July... So I'm looking for a simple Tree Skirt pattern... And I just can't find one that is not COMPLETELY round, but a split in it so it's easy to put around the tree. Maybe I can just make on up.

It's Finally Finished!!! My Michigian Afghan...:-)

It's Finished!!! It's a LITTLE over 6 feet long and 4 1/2 feet wide. here you go... :-) And I'm already started on the next one. It's a blend of Purples. But it will NOT be that big. ( I'm just using up some of my stash. ) The yarn is called TLC Amore.


What I NEED to do is make one for the Living Room Sofa. But I haven't found the right color for it. Here it is with Sissy on it.
It's mainly blue, but it has Light Gray in it also. A silvery thread running through it.

It's already 11:25 PM. I have the news on. Everything seems to be Obama & Health Care. I hate the very thought of Gov't run Health Care. I pray we don't end up with that. ( At least they aren't talking about Michael Jackson any more. :-) )

I tried returning yarn to our JoAnn's Store here, that I bought at JoAnn.com. NOPE. Didn't work. I have to mail it back to JoAnn.com. Oh well. I was just trying to take a shortcut. The reason I need to send it back is because it is SO SPLITTY!!! It's Bernat Satin. I used it last year and it was fine. But not this time. I guess they change the formulation.
I better get some things done before I go to bed...

Sissy in My lap Sleeping Away...

(Whispering) Shh... :-) I just had to show you what I have in my lap as I type... As Sissy sleeps, I type on.... I guess the clicking of the keys is soothing to her...

I got a big box of yarn today from JoAnn's. * :-) * Bernat Satin & Lion Brand Wool Ease Chunky! I'll have to post a picture of my work when I start to use it.

The afghan I'm working is so big now, she no longer sleeps on my lap while working on it. I think it's just too heavy for her. She prefers the sunshine coming through the door.
I better get to the kitchen and fix supper for Paul. Talk to you later!!!

The Family Reunion is over... And it was GREAT! I hope we can do it again next year! And we just had the best weather for it. ( The High was 71, IN JULY! )

Cooking For Our Family Reunion...

Good Afternoon,

Sorry I haven't gotten on here earlier today, but I've been busy in the kitchen.

Take a look... It's for our Family Reunion tomorrow. Macaroni, Peas & Shrimp Salad. Tonight I'll make a dressing for it.

Now I have to make the Taco Bean Dip. I'll be making 2 since so many people are coming.

Now I have to get to Mom & dad's house to set up for tomorrow. ( Picnic Tables etc... )

I Love It & So Soft.....

Good Morning!!!

My yarn just came in the mail this morning. It's wonderful! I ordered from Knit Picks. And it came only 2 days after I ordered it. They get a Gold Star for fast delivery! I bought 3 different types. So far my favorite for an afghan or bedspread for a someone special whom I can't mention because they may read my blog... ;-) is called BULKY WEIGHT 75% Pima Cotton & 25%Acrylic SO SOFT! The other 2 are of Pima Cotton blends also. All are SOFT. Shine Worsted & Comfy Worsted.

Now I'm off to Home Depot to get a new Picnic Table... Then to buy the Shrimp for the salad I'm fixing for the Family Reunion. Then I head to the garden to pick Roma Tomatoes for Salsa & Taco Bean Dip which is also for the Family Reunion. But I'm having a hard time trying to come up with a dessert I can fix...Hmm...Off to the Recipe Box & Cookbooks I shall go.

Its now 9:44 P.M.

I struck GOLD at Kroger's! Or should I say SHRIMP!!! The Shrimp was " Buy On Get One Free "! So I got some extra...:-)

Looking back on today, Sissy was only sleepy, a bit off balance from her medication in the A.M. I called the Vet, and he said to cut her Medication in 1/2 which made me happy. She is too little for 15 MG. of Phenobarbital. So this should make her feel better.

Storms A Brewing...

The Storms are coming... I can hear static in my Music System already. So I better make this quick before I have to unplug the computer.

Last night ( 7-14-09) my poor baby had a seizure. :-( I found out from the Vet that little Toy Dogs like her are apt to have them once in awhile. So I was up with her part of the PM. She is fine now! Well, she doesn't care for storms either, so once the storms get here, she'll probably be in my lap as I crochet. ;-)

So far the plans for our Family Reunion is going great! It look like about 20 -25 people will be coming from out of City & State. :-) The more the merrier.

I better get off of here before the Thunderstorms hit. Great sleeping, reading or crocheting weather. :-)

UPDATE: It's now 10:00 P.M.

That big bad storm went south of us. LOL We heard Rumbling, got some sprinkles & had static in our music system. And that was the worst of it. ;-)

Sissy just laid real pretty in the sunshine coming through the few clouds we actually had.

Nice and Cool Out...

It's so nice and cool out right now, and yet I sit at the computer and write. I'll crochet on our front porch later. It's nice & cool... And I love our roses.

I have a roast in the Crock Pot , so that takes care of dinner tonight. Don't you just love Crock pots! I just need more good recipes for ours.

Awww.. What A Job...

I just got home from the Grocery Store, Paying Bills, JoAnn's & Went to the Salon. Now I'm home and feet are up! After writing here, It's on to fixing supper.

After looking at the yarns at JoAnn's, I have a question for everyone. What do you consider as the THE BEST yarn for an afghan that you know will be used, not just displayed on the sofa. I saw a yarn by Lion Brand I might try. The color is SPICE. It's a bulky yarn. ( And I usually don't like those, but this one looked good.) I just have to look it up and see what it's made of.

My Hook & I

Good Afternoon! It seems like everyone has a Blog. I felt like I ought to. So here I am.

Today I have been working on my " Michigan Afghan "... It is going to be just perfect for us. It's called the Michigan becausa I worked on it on our Michigan Vacation this year. It got so cold in the Upper Peininsula. But it was pretty! we also saw the Canadian Shoreline. But we need passports to go there.
